Update Slack status during new Google Calendar events

First, we need to connect Google Calendar and Slack to Zapier.

  Give Zapier access to your Google Calendar account, using Google Calendar credentials.

  Connect Slack to Zapier.

  Give Zapier access to your Slack account, using Slack credentials.

Next, we need to create a workflow automation scenario using graphical no-code web interface of Zapier.

  Set up a Trigger action for Google Calendar

  Choose the following trigger: Event Start (Triggers a specified time before an event starts.).

  Then set up an Action for Slack

  Choose this action: Set Status (Sets your Slack status to the given text and emoji.).

Finally, we need to test this automation and publish it.

  Customize data flow

  Configure the data that is exchanged between Google Calendar and Slack.

  Test the workflow and turn it on for production use
