Use Google Assistant to add a new Google Contact

First, we need to connect Google Assistant and Google Contacts to IFTTT.

  Create IFTTT account.

  Create IFTTT account if you don't have one.

  Connect Google Assistant to IFTTT.

  Give IFTTT access to your Google Assistant account, using Google Assistant credentials.

  Connect Google Contacts to IFTTT.

  Give IFTTT access to your Google Contacts account, using Google Contacts credentials.

Next, we need to create a workflow automation scenario using graphical no-code web interface of IFTTT.

  Set up a Trigger action for Google Assistant

  Choose the following trigger: Say a phrase with both a number and a text ingredient (This trigger fires when you say “Ok Google” to the Google Assistant followed by a phrase like “Block time for ‘exercise’ at 6 PM.” **Use the # symbol to specify where you'll say the number ingredient and $ where you'll say the text ingredient).

  Then set up an Action for Google Contacts

  Choose this action: Create new contact (This Action will create a new contact in Google Contacts.).

Finally, we need to test this automation and publish it.

  Customize data flow

  Configure the data that is exchanged between Google Assistant and Google Contacts.

  Test the workflow and turn it on for production use

  Test your scenario and publish to production. Now you have an automatic workflow, that will Use Google Assistant to add a new Google Contact!
