Part I
First, we need to connect Amazon Alexa and SMS to IFTTT.
Create IFTTT account.
Create IFTTT account if you don't have one.
Connect Amazon Alexa to IFTTT.
Give IFTTT access to your Amazon Alexa account, using Amazon Alexa credentials.
Connect SMS to IFTTT.
Give IFTTT access to your SMS account, using SMS credentials.
Part II
Next, we need to create a workflow automation scenario using graphical no-code web interface of IFTTT.
Set up a Trigger action for Amazon Alexa
Choose the following trigger: Ask what's on your Shopping List (This Trigger fires every time the you ask Alexa what's on your Shopping List.).
Then set up an Action for SMS
Choose this action: Send me an SMS (This Action will send an SMS to your mobile phone.).

Finally, we need to test this automation and publish it.

Test the workflow and turn it on for production use
Test your scenario and publish to production. Now you have an automatic workflow, that will Ask Alexa what's on your shopping list and she'll text it to you!
