This automation scenario allows you to connect Email and GroupMe
It can be build using Ifttt, a no-code workflow automation tool. Ifttt allows you to create automated scripts using a simple drag-and-drop interface for non-technical users. This is a ready-made scenario, but it can be customized by adding more apps, actions, filters or branches.
Email and GroupMe can also be integrated using automation tools other than ifttt:
When this trigger fires in Email
Send IFTTT an email at [email protected] with a hashtag in the subject (e.g. #IFTTT) and this Trigger fires. You can optionally add a single file attachment (up to 30MB) and IFTTT will create a public URL to the file as an Ingredient.
Then this action happens in GroupMe
This Action will post a new message to the group you specify.
This guide contains information on how to set up an automatic workflow that allows to Send messages to GroupMe when you tag an email with a specific hashtag.
Part I
First, we need to connect Email and GroupMe to IFTTT.
Create IFTTT account.
Create IFTTT account if you don't have one.
Connect Email to IFTTT.
Give IFTTT access to your Email account, using Email credentials.
Connect GroupMe to IFTTT.

Part II
Next, we need to create a workflow automation scenario using graphical no-code web interface of IFTTT.
Set up a Trigger action for Email
Choose the following trigger: Send IFTTT an email tagged (Send IFTTT an email at [email protected] with a hashtag in the subject (e.g. #IFTTT) and this Trigger fires. You can optionally add a single file attachment (up to 30MB) and IFTTT will create a public URL to the file as an Ingredient.).
Then set up an Action for GroupMe
Choose this action: Post a message to group (This Action will post a new message to the group you specify.).
Part III
Finally, we need to test this automation and publish it.
Customize data flow
Configure the data that is exchanged between Email and GroupMe.
Test the workflow and turn it on for production use
Test your scenario and publish to production. Now you have an automatic workflow, that will Send messages to GroupMe when you tag an email with a specific hashtag!
